DIY Inground pool - Day 9

Hi everyone, another quick update on how things went today, in short not great and I hope the damage is not too bad.

In addition to regular meetings at work this week, I have a workgroup that has been meeting 4 hours every day which has been pretty tough, and I have been interviewing for one of my open positions, so busy busy.

After real work today, Megan and I fired up the mixer again and poured 12.5 40 lb bags of Pool Krete. Each bag makes two batches in my mixer and each batch fills 2 buckets half each, light enough to handle without killing yourself. so all in all, about 50 buckets worth of Pool Krete until we ran out.  My calculations were way off in how much we needed, and I figure we need about 10-12 more.  I will call the pool company tomorrow to have some ordered.  Megan and I have a pretty good system, where I stay on the mixer and bring her buckets, she dumps them out and trowels, "just like concrete art", she says!

Well, tonight I had to bail to go to band rehearsals around 6:30pm and I got the dreaded text that it was raining.  All day we had no more than a 20% chance and our luck got the best of us and it rained ALOT! I can't tell how much damage it did in the dark with minimal light but I can tell it didn't totally wash out the sidewalls which is what my mind was thinking.  I'll update tomorrow on what the verdict is and what we are going to do about it. Oh, and the electrician didn't show up again today, that's three days...in a row!

Goodnight everyone, stay tuned!

Matt
