DIY Inground pool - Day 9.5

Hi everyone,

Today I took a vacation day from real work to 1 relax and 2, put in a half-day on the pool.  What I wanted to get accomplished today was getting the plumbing completed!

We already had the entire equipment pad plumbed and the main intake and return manifolds in place, all I needed to do was to plumb the lines for the skimmer return, route and install the (2) return jets, run the lines for the (2) deck jets and create and install the wall jet that is centrally located just above the water line in the deeper end.  All three of those fountains are on one return to equalize the pressure and hopefully gives us a consistent stream of entertainment!

This image above shows a Tee joint and on the tee is a brass conductor ( bond beam) that actually touches the pool water at all times in the pipe as it is lower grade than the water level will be.  In case of lightning or other charge to the water, it will be bonded (grounded) to earth!  Win for safety!

This evening we also had a pizza party/virtual recital for Addison who missed out on actually doing a dance show on a real stage for hip-hop, jazz and lyrical.  Mimi and papa came over only to have further technical difficulties with the production again.  During this time the electricians came out and started working in pulling the lines from the barn into the main electrical housing in the house and replacing the existing double 30 with a double 50 amp breaker.

We were able to get power in the barn today which is great and we started working on the lights.  For some reason the fittings we were using did not work with the lights and we (they) had to engineer a solution, more to come tomorrow on the electrical but I think we will be close to finished and I hope I can call for our first inspection on Monday or Tuesday!

The other day I mentioned potential damage to the floor due to an unannounced rain that hit after we were working, here is a pic, it is not as bad as I expected, a few pock marks from the drips from the tree drip line and a few edges we need to smooth out.  No worries I will make an extra soupy batch of pool krete to go back and fill these in.  Megan was great today by going and picking up the 12 additional bags we ordered yesterday!

Stay tuned!
