DIT Inground Pool - Day 15

Hi everyone,

Big day today, I wasn't sure if we could pull it off but the pool is filling up as we speak!  Lots of work this AM, concreting and screwing in the the liner bead trims for steps, cleaning the pool hopper from the last rain and sucking up all the water.  I went and rented a pump, but it wouldn't service the small depth we had.  Megan ended up using a pitcher from the kitchen to drain most of it, then I turned her onto a wet dry vac that completed the rest.  Over the course of the day it evaporated and dried out nice!

Once the bottom was clean we installed the gaskets on the skimmer and main drains, this does go under the liner and you just use a bit of silicone glue to hold them in place.  Also taped up all seams on the walls and steps with duck tape!

Of all the tasks with the pool so far, they have been pretty tough, but installing the liner was relatively simple. It only took about 1.5-2 hours to get it right, the bead fit right into the receiver, the steps were the tough part making sure we had good accuracy,  Once everything was locked in we started the shop vac to pull a suction on the liner and just stood back! We are very pleased about how few wrinkles are in the liner and we hope to keep it running through the night.

Here we are with the liner finally installed!  It only took about and 2 hours to get it where we wanted it. before we turned on the water!

This was during the heat of the day a d it broke me, luckily Megan pulled through like a champ and did most of the work.

This is the water meter before filling, I was told I could take an after shot and be discounted for my monthly sewer rates if I take this in to the town, I will do that!

Cant keep the girls out of the water, so excited!  Nothing much left to report, good day of work, tomorrow we should be filled up, electrical in place, inspection ordered etc...

stay tuned!
