I know everyone is eager for an update, so here is a short one while the rain has us tied down a bit. This afternoon, the electricians were supposed to come by to finish up the rough in, day 2 of bailing on us, I'm starting to lose hope but par for course...good thing I only paid them half, and quite frankly I could finish the job from where they left off.
Anyway, I decided to go out and take a few licks at the plumbing from the equipment pad to the pool. Pro-tip (I'm not a pro) always work from the equipment pad to the pool when installing plumbing, it just makes it easier. I threw a few joints in and a few long poles before I got too hot in the sun and had to call it a day, showered and cooked dinner before the girls got home from cheer!
There are four plumbing lines going to the pool, the skimmer, the main drains, fountains, and return jets. Another couple conduits will also be added for the lights eventually. This is all 1.5 inch pipe and I also did the math on the pool volume today, it will be 7,248 gallons, will be important to know for chemical usage! I also calculated at 7 GPM it will take a hose 15.5 hours to fill.
So After dinner Megan and I had a a couple glasses of good ideas, watched the weather then decided to hit it again. We are fighting the weather and we feel like we have a 24 hour break from major rain chances so we fired up the mixer and troweled in another few hundred pounds of pool krete, finishing the base step and the slope into the final deep grade of the pool. We finished in headlamps about 9pm, but glad we had a little chance to get a bit of work done.
And here I am, after a third shower today hanging with my new side lady friend Ally Mae, writing this blog! Feel free to ask any questions you may have in the comments, interested to hear what you guys think?
a few of the last text between Megan and I! LOL
Stay tuned til next time!
